A strong twister in Brazil’s southern state of Parana killed six individuals and injured greater than 400 others Friday evening, state officers stated Saturday.
The twister, which hit speeds of greater than 250 kph (155 mph), destroyed dozens of properties and prompted the federal government to declare an emergency within the affected area.

State officers in a press release stated at the least one individual was lacking hours after the twister touched down. 5 of the killed have been adults and the sixth was a 14-year-old woman.
The federal government stated that 437 individuals, together with kids and pregnant ladies, had acquired medical consideration at hospitals and on-site items. Of these, at the least 10 underwent surgical procedure and 9 remained in critical situation.
On social media, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva expressed solidarity with the victims.
